MASSAPEDIA NEWS - Hidden wealth of the world leaders, politicians and celebrities revealed in a document leaked millions of overseas investment of Panama. The big names emerge, ranging from Xi Jinping, Vladimir Putin until Lionnel Messi.


Quoted by The Guardian, Sunday (3/4), as many as 11.5 million leaked documents belong to foreign law firm Mossack Fonseca based in Panama. Documents of 2.6 terabit is provided by an anonymous source told the German media, the Süddeutsche Zeitung and distributed to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, ICIJ, and investigated by more than 100 media groups.


Document Mossack Fonseca leads to 214 thousand corporate entities abroad. Mossack Fonseca himself has branches in more than 35 countries. The document said 140 names of political figures, including 12 leaders or former leaders of the country.


Among the names that appeared was the brother-in-law of President of China Xi Jinping, Deng Jiagui, the daughter of former Chinese premier Li Peng, Li Xiaolin, the grandson of a senior Communist Party of China, Jia Qinglin, the son of Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, Mohd Nazifuddin bin Mohd Najib , children of Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, President of Ukraine, the King of Saudi Arabia and Prime Minister of Iceland.


Although not a violation of the law using overseas companies to set up or invest, but the appearance of this document implies pengemplangan mode taxes and money laundering.

Billions of dollars belonging to Putin

Other documents mention the Argentine footballer Lionnel Messi and his father also had a company in Panama, Mega Star Enterprises Inc. Previously, the company did not appear in a tax investigation father and son in Spain.

There are at least 33 people and companies in the leaked document was blacklisted by US companies, such as North Korea and Iran, including Hezbollah group Libannon origin.


Mossack Fonseca as finance law firm did not report his client's background blacklisted.

According to the ICIJ, documents ranging from 1975 to 2015 it was leaked in the world after WikiLeaks leaked secret US military in 2010.

Mossack Fonseca said they had operated within the law for 40 years and never stumble criminal case.


The company even said that disclosure of the documents is a serious crime.

"This is an attack against the Panama because some countries do not like it and we are very competitive in attracting companies," said Ramon Fonseca, founder of this company.
