Marquez Hanging The Future in Honda


MotoGP world champion in 2013 and 2014, Marc Marquez, was reluctant to discuss a new contract with Repsol Honda. Despite claims pleased to strengthen Honda, Marquez did not close the opportunity to move to another team.

Marquez contract with Honda will expire the end of this season. Although there are no rumors of a move to another team, the Spanish rider has not also ensure a future with Honda.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Marquez said is currently not thinking about a contract extension with Honda and want to focus undergo new season.

"You never know what's going on. Two years ago so many rumors, and in the end I'm still here. I'm glad to strengthen Honda. We won two titles in three seasons. We'll see what will happen this season, because we have to start with the good, "said Marquez.

After experiencing difficulties in testing at Sepang Circuit, Malaysia, Marquez managed to improve his performance on the test at the Circuit Phillip Island, Australia, last week.

Marquez as a whole managed to be second behind the fastest rider Maverick Vinales (Suzuki). The Baby Alien has the best record time of 1 minute 29.158 seconds, 0.027 seconds adrift of Vinales.

"I do not know how the development of other teams, but we'll soon know. We can not catch Yamaha in Malaysia, and even behind the Ducati. We improved in Australia, because Ducati is behind us. But, Yamaha and Ducati will be ready to perform at Qatar, "said Marquez.

Related to the use of new electronic devices and Michelin tires, Marquez said Honda has not fully adapted to these two things.

"Honda still have to work hard in both areas. My job is to find out how the use of Michelin tires. If they work well, we will have a good season," said Marquez.

MotoGP 2016 will begin next month with the first series took place at the Losail Circuit, Qatar, March 20 next.
