Lorenzo: Rossi will be difficulties at Age 37 Years

Jorge Lorenzo still think Movistar Yamaha teammate, Valentino Rossi, as one competitor in MotoGP in 2016 despite the Spanish rider believes The Doctor will be difficult to compete with younger riders.

Lorenzo beat Rossi in the race for the MotoGP world title in 2015 with a five-point lead at the end of the season. His relationship with Rossi was heated after Lorenzo was accused of getting help from Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda).

In an interview with Cycle World, Lorenzo Rossi regarded as one of the rivals to be wary in MotoGP in 2016. But the 28-year-old rider confident Rossi will be difficulties in the age of 37 this season.

"Rossi is very motivated and eager to work hard and fight. Obviously he's been 37 years, so it is not easy to face a young rider like Marquez, me, and Dani Pedrosa," said Lorenzo.

Lorenzo had mastered the course of the official test at Sepang Circuit, Malaysia. But then trouble when the test took place in the 2016 MotoGP circuit Phillip Island, Australia, last week.

Such conditions create Lorenzo did not think of it as the favorites to win in MotoGP 2016 MotoGP world champion 2010, 2012, and 2015, it said the competition will be open this season.

"I could be just because my favorite rider defending champion and I am the fastest in Sepang. But, when the green light is on at night racing at the Qatar Grand Prix, we will start from zero again and in the end I did not have the advantage," said Lorenzo.

Related contract with Yamaha will end this season, Lorenzo hopes to extend the contract with the Japanese team before the series opener at the Qatar Grand Prix was held on March 20 next.

"I have not had talks with Yamaha, but we will do so soon. Ideally I would do a contract extension before the first series in Qatar. It will be the best solution for both parties," said Lorenzo.
