Incident of Rossi and Marquez Change MotoGP Penalty System

International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) change the system of penalty points for MotoGP in 2016. Incidents involving Movistar Yamaha rider, Valentino Rossi, with Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) made FIM change the existing system.

The old system has been criticized following a controversy involving Rossi and Marquez at the Malaysian GP last season. When Rossi got three penalty points for dangerous maneuver against Marquez.

Accumulated four penalty points to make Rossi sanctions start from behind in the last series at the Valencia Grand Prix. The Doctor must lose the world title after losing five points from team-mate, Jorge Lorenzo, at the end of the season.

"Now the penalty points will remain listed for 365 days. But, when the rider has reached accumulated 10 penalty points or more and receive a disqualification, 10 penalty points will be removed. "

MotoGP 2016 will be opened with a race at the Losail Circuit, Qatar, March 20 next. The riders will still undergo an official test, ie at Losail on March 2 to 4.
