Ed Sheeran Getting His First Grammy Awards
Over the past four years, Ed Sheeran already has a name in the Grammy Awards. He was always there in the nomination. But Sheeran has never won.
This year, Lady Luck seemed to be in favor of the singer's Thinking Out Loud. In the event the 58th Grammy Awards held on Monday (15/2) night in America, 24-year-old man finally managed to bring home her first Grammy.
Through song titled Thinking Out Loud, Sheeran was awarded Best Pop Solo Appearance.
"Congratulations to Sheeran for her first Grammy in GrammyLive!" Grammy organizers wrote via his Twitter account, quoted by E! On line.
The victory over Sheeran thanked his family. "I have been coming here for the last four years and did not win. My family flew here every year and I have to explain to them, 'Why?'" He said. Now, they know why.
The United blooded man beat fellow musician who is also nominated in the Best Pop Solo Appearance, like Ellie Goulding, Kelly Clarkson, The Weeknd, and his best friend, Taylor Swift.
When they learned that Sheeran won her first Grammy, as a good friend, Swift also was pleased with it. Although, the singer of Bad Blood defeated by his own.
"YES!" Swift wrote with delight, while replying to nudge at the Grammy's official Twitter account linked Sheeran victory.
In addition, Thinking Out Loud also nominated for Best Record and Best Song, which again forced Sheeran have to deal directly with Swift in the competition.
Appearance Award Best Pop Solo only just launched at the 2012 Grammy Awards. So far, the category has been won by world renowned musicians, such as Adele's Someone Like You and Set Fire to the Rain, then there Lorde with the Royals, and Pharell Williams with Happy.
