Gerard Pique: Barcelona Wants to Become a Champion Quickly

Barcelona central defender Gerard Pique, said his team wanted to finish La Liga with a trophy this season.

Pique also increasingly optimistic after Barcelona keep winning at week 28 in Ipurua Stadium, Sunday (6/3) evening local time. Barcelona 4-0 win at Eibar's headquarters, the Spanish giants closer to the champion.

With the win, Barcelona memperahankan margin of eight points over second-placed Atletico Madrid.

Atletico itself was also successful 2-0 win over Sporting Gijon on the same day.

"Our goal is to champion as soon as possible, we are in a good position and we will continue to defend like this," said Pique.

Responding rivalry with Atletico, Pique responded casually. "We do not exclude any party that has a mathematical chance to win the title," said Shakira's lover.

Pique also said he was happy with the big win that is returned to Barcelona. "It was a very professional performance in a very difficult terrain," said the 29-year-old player.

"We are very focused from the beginning and will not let the opportunity for granted. In addition to a good position, we will calm the game as soon as possible."

Pique also responded to mediocre record unbeaten Barcelona in 36 times. "We do not think about it (the record) and every game is very decisive," he said.

"If the record continues to increase, the better, meaning everything goes well."
